Panthers Fall to Penn State on the Road

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Pitt men's soccer team fell 1-0 Tuesday night at Jeffrey Field to long-time rival Penn State in non-conference action.
With the loss, the Panthers move to 2-9-2 overall while the Nittany Lions improve to 5-6-1.
Penn State fired off 13 shots on goal through the 90 minutes, but redshirt freshman goalkeeper Mikal Outcalt was up for the task as he saved all but one. Of those shots, Outcalt saved a crucial penalty kick in the 66th minute.
The Nittany Lions' lone goal of the match came in the 41st minute. PSU's Dayonn Harris received a lead pass up the field and chipped the ball over Outcalt as he came attacking out of the cage. With an open net, Harris buried the ball in the lower left corner.
The Panthers continue action on the road as they travel to Raleigh, N.C., to take on ACC-foe NC State Saturday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m.
