Pitt Softball Announces Dates for Fall Semester Camps

PITTSBURGH - University of Pittsburgh softball coach Holly Aprile and her staff have announced camp dates and times for the 2015 fall semester. The camps will be held at either Vartabedian Field, located in the Petersen Sports Complex, or the Cost Center on Pitt's campus.
The Panthers will be offering four different camps including an Advanced All-Skills Academy, Pitcher/Catcher Prospect Camp and two Elite Prospect Skills Camps.
Advanced All-Skills Academy
Age: Grades 9-12
Dates: Wednesday Nights [10/21, 10/28, 11/4, 11/18]
Place: Cost Center
Times: 4-5:30 p.m.
Cost: $250
Description: The 2015 Pitt Advanced All-Skills Academy is designed for athletes who have serious interest in playing collegiate softball. The clinic will be open for all girls' grades 9-12 and will be held from 4-5:30 pm on Wednesday nights during October and November. Main areas of emphasis will be offense and defense (no pitching and catching instruction). The clinic will feature high level skill training designed to improve your ability to play at the collegiate level.
Elite Prospect Skills Camp - 1
Age: Grades 9-12
Date: Saturday, November 14
Place: Vartabedian Field
Times: 8 a.m.-Noon
Cost: $90
Description: The 2015 Pitt Elite Prospect Skills Camp is designed for the athlete who wants to play softball in college. The camp will be open for all girls, grades 9-12, and will be held from 8 a.m.-Noon on Saturday, November 14. This camp will provide an opportunity to showcase your skills, be evaluated by the staff and learn more about the Pitt softball program. Main areas of emphasis will be advanced skill development. Athletes will be divided up by position and will receive instruction by the staff and players on advanced position-specific skills. In addition to skill development, we will have live at-bats and in-game simulations to further evaluate and learn in-game concepts.
Pitcher/Catcher Prospect Camp:
Age: Grades 8-11
Date: Sunday, November 15
Place: Vartabedian Field
Times: 9 a.m.-Noon
Cost: $85
Description: The 2015 Pitt Pitcher/Catcher Prospect Camp is designed for the athlete who wants to learn advanced skills of pitching and catching. This camp will be open for all girls, grades 8-11, and will be held from 9 a.m.-Noon on Sunday, November 15. Pitchers will be introduced to different movement pitch instruction, along with defensive fundamentals from the mound. Catchers will go over skills needed in receiving, blocking, pickoffs and steal throws, along with plate coverage and bunt coverage.
Elite Prospect Skills Camp - 2:
Age: Grades 9-12
Dates: Sunday, December 6
Place: Vartabedian Field
Times: 8 a.m.-Noon
Cost: $90
Description: The 2015 Pitt Elite Prospect Skills Camp is designed for the athlete who wants to play softball in college. The camp will be open for all girls, grades 9-12, and will be held from 8 a.m.-Noon on Saturday, November 14.
