COMPLETE AVCA DIVISION I REGIONAL SELECTIONS
PITTSBURGH – University of Pittsburgh volleyball players Amanda Orchard and Kadi Kullerkann were named to the AVCA Division I East Coast All-Region Team, as announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association Tuesday afternoon.
“Amanda has come about as close to reaching her potential as anyone I have ever coached,” said head coach Dan Fisher. “This honor is well deserved and we are extremely proud of what she has done at Pitt.”
Orchard is being tabbed for the second consecutive year, following another standout season for the Panthers in 2015. The senior led Pitt’s offense with a .410 hitting percentage, which placed her 19th overall in the nation and second in the ACC. In addition, the middle hitter registered 19 matches with a hitting percentage of .400 or higher and racked up 275 kills this season [2.35 kills/set].
Off the court, the Lake Zurich, Ill., native was named a finalist for the prestigious Senior CLASS Award.
“Kadi has only been with us for a short time, but has made a huge impact on our program,” said Fisher. “She had a very dynamic year both offensively and with her blocking, and it is great to see her efforts recognized.”
This also marks Kullerkann’s second consecutive selection, as she earned AVCA Southeast All-Region honors at Houston in her final season with the Cougars. The graduate transfer made an immediate impact for Pitt in her final year of eligibility, leading the Panthers in kills with a total of 437, which breaks down to 3.74 per set. Additionally, Kullerkann reached double-figure kills in 21 consecutive matches, and tallied a total of 29.
Both student-athletes were named All-ACC selections on November 25.
