Swimming & Diving Announces Trees Pool Renovation Project

PITTSBURGH - The University of Pittsburgh swimming and diving program announces the Trees Pool Renovation Project, an undertaking which will enhance both the quality of the venerable facility and the experience of the student - athletes that call it home.
First opened in 1963, Trees Pool has consistently maintained its status as one of the premier aquatic venues in the country, but upgrades to the facility will enable Pitt to host ACC Championships and most importantly recruit and maintain the most talented student-athletes.
Beginning immediately, the swimming and diving program will embark on a $4.0 million concentrated fundraising effort to support renovations of its facilities such as an new men's and women's locker rooms, a modern team meeting room and lounge, an in house nutrition center, legacy wall , new coaches offices and dry land training area.
Phase I of the construction began on March 1st and will be completed by August 2016. Phase II is scheduled to begin March 2017.
