No. 13 Panthers Host No. 5 Oklahoma State

PITTSBURGH – The No. 13 ranked Pitt wrestling team will host perennial power No. 5 Oklahoma State on Sunday, Jan. 19, at 2 p.m. at Fitzgerald Field House. The dual will mark the first time that the Cowboys will wrestle in Pittsburgh.

The Panthers are coming off an impressive weekend where they went 4-0 with wins over North Carolina State, Duke, Buffalo and Davidson, outscoring its four opponents by an impressive 136-32 margin.

Pitt is 8-1 in dual action on the season with its lone loss coming at No. 1 Penn State in front of a record crowd of 15,996 at the Bryce Jordan Center.

The Panthers roster features five wrestlers ranked in the latest InterMat polls led by a pair of top-10 grapplers in Max Thomusseit (#6, 184 pounds) and Tyler Wilps (#8, 174 pounds).

Oklahoma State is 3-3 in dual action and is coming off a defeat at No. 2 Iowa. The Cowboys are led by nine wrestlers who are ranked in the latest InterMat polls, including five top-10 wrestlers - Chris Perry (#2, 174), Alex Deringer (#2, 157), John Morrison (#4, 133), Tyler Caldwell (#5, 165) and Josh Kindig (#8, 149).

This will mark the second ever meeting between Pitt and Oklahoma State. The Panthers and Cowboys met in Stillwater last season with OSU coming away with a 26-14 win.
