LORETTO, Pa. - The University of Pittsburgh men's soccer team fell 3-0 at St. Francis (PA) on Monday at Stokes Soccer Complex.
The Red Flash (1-0-1) scored the eventual game-winner in the 38th minute on a goal from junior Wayne Tiller. SFU added a pair of insurance scores in the second half in the 52nd minute and the 71st frame, respectively.
The Panthers (0-2-0) dropped their second-straight match to open a season for the first time since 2006. The squad fields a team with 10 newcomers this fall.
Pitt is back in action this weekend, traveling cross-town for the Duquesne Invitational. The Panthers face Stony Brook on Friday, Sept. 2 at 5:30 p.m. and meet up with Valparaiso on Sunday, Sept. 4 at 11 a.m.
