Softball Announces Fall/Winter Clinics

PITTSBURGH—Head Softball Coach Holly Aprile announced the dates for four one-day clinics this fall/winter. Below is information regarding each clinic, including dates, times and location.
PITT Fall Pitching Clinic
Sunday, Nov. 13
When: 8:30 a.m. (check in) clinic runs from 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
Where: The Charles L. Cost Center on PITT’s upper campus.
Who: Girls ages 12-18
Players will learn different grips used to perfect pitches including: fastball, drop, rise, curve and change-up. Players will also gain hands-on instruction about the purpose and strategy of each pitch from current softball coaches and pitchers. Participants must provide their own catchers!
PITT Fall Hitting Clinic I
Saturday, Dec. 10
When: 8:30 a.m. (check in) clinic runs from 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
Where: The Charles L. Cost Center on PITT’s upper campus.
Who: Girls ages 12-18
Participants will learn the proper fundamentals and techniques used to increase both power and batting average. In addition to hitting, PITT coaches and players will also teach various bunts including sacrifice, drag and suicide.
Elite All-Skills Showcase
Saturday, Dec. 17
When: 8 a.m. (check in) clinic runs from 8:30 a.m.–noon.
Where: The Charles L. Cost Center on PITT’s upper campus.
Who: Girls in 9th-12th grade.
The 2010 Elite All-Skills Showcase is designed for the athlete who wants to play softball in college. The showcase will be broken down into two sessions: Advanced Skill Development and Live in–game evaluation. During these sessions participants will receive advanced instruction from PITT coaches and players.

When: 8:30 a.m. (check in) clinic runs from 9 a.m.-11:30 a.m.
Where: The Charles L. Cost Center on PITT’s upper campus.
Who: Girls ages 12-18
