McLaren Returns From Canadian Nationals

VICTORIA, Canada—Senior Alex McLaren finishes the 2010 Summer National Championships with a personal best. Held at the Saanich Commonwealth Place in Victoria Canada, McLaren competed in four events over the five-day meet.
In the prelims of the 100 fly, McLaren achieved a personal best when he touched the wall at 55.40. That finish seeded him third headed into the finals. Nearly swimming an identical race, McLaren would place seventh overall with a time of 55.81.
Earlier in the meet, he turned in a 13th-place performance in the 50 fly with a time of 25.56 in the finals. That was an improvement from his prelims finish of 25.67. McLaren was the 10th Canadian to finish in the event.
He also recorded a top 40 finish in the 200 free (1:56.78), to round out individual performances.
As a member of the 400 medley relay on Saturday evening, McLaren went 56.15 in his 100 fly split, aiding the team to a top 25 finish at 4:02.32.
