Berliner Earns All-Big East Honors

LOUISVILLE, Ky.--Junior Cory Berliner garnered her first-ever All-Big East honor, as Big East officials named its regular-season award winners at its annual pre-tournament banquet this evening.
Berliner was one of two pitchers selected to the All-Big East third team. During the season, she was also mentioned on the conference honor roll twice.
In 164.1 innings of work, Berliner has tallied a 2.04 ERA, collected 13 wins, struck out 103 batters and posted two shutouts. Additionally, she has tossed four complete games where she allowed three or less hits.
Berliner is the current school record holder in career ERA (1.93), ranks third overall on the all-time career wins list (38), fourth in innings pitched (501) and is fifth in career strikeouts (340).
As a whole, Pitt's pitchers boast a 2.13 ERA and 239 strikeouts.
The Panthers faces Louisville in the quarterfinals of the Big East Championship on Thursday, May 13, at 6:30 p.m.
