Softball Falls to Morehead State

MOREHEAD, Ky.—The University of Pittsburgh softball team fell 3-0 to host Morehead State in its first game of the Morehead State Invitational, this morning. The Panthers slipped to 3-7 on the season, while the Eagles earned their third win of the year.
Morehead State scored all three runs in the bottom of the fifth, as the bases were juiced when a double was hit to right center field.
Freshman Holly Stevens recorded a one-out single in the sixth, as the Panthers threatened to score. Following her hit, sophomores Yvette Bravo and Keli Gaynor were walked. However, the next two at-bats would be retired.
Earlier in the game, sophomore Jessica Rhodunda doubled in the fifth for the Panthers.
Junior Alyssa O’Connell (2-4) pitched five innings in the contest, allowing three runs off six hits.
