PITTSBURGH - The University of Pittsburgh women's basketball team looks to break out of a three-game slide Sunday afternoon as they host rival West Virginia University at 4 p.m. in the Petersen Events Center.
The Panthers and Mountaineers met just under two weeks ago in Morgantown, with WVU taking the win by a score of 63-59, snapping Pitt's three-game winning streak in the all-time series. Junior guard Jania Sims tallied a career-high 28 points for Pitt.
Sunday's 4 p.m. match up will be the 40th time the two schools have met on the hardwood. West Virginia holds the 22-17 edge but the Panthers are 11-7 all-time at home against their border rival.
Sunday's game will be featured on ESPNU with Rob King and Meg Bulger sharing the calling duties. The game will also be featured on FOX Sports Radio 970 AM with Greg Linnelli and Mike Clark handling play by play and color analysis respectively.
