Women's Volleyball Earns Shutout Victory

STATE COLEGE, Pa.—Junior Amy Town recorded a match-high 15 kills, as the University of Pittsburgh women’s volleyball team earned their second shutout of the season with a 3-0 victory over Robert Morris in the first game of the Nittany Lion Invitational. Pitt improved to 4-1 on the year with scores of 25-11, 25-9 and 25-21.
Town led the Panthers with 15 kills in three sets, while seniors Meagan Dooley and Melissa Stadelman chipped in 12 and 11, respectively.
Pitt’s best game of the match was the second set, where the Panthers held the Colonials to -.207 hitting and just five kills.
The squad also out-blocked Robert Morris, 10-6, in the contest. Junior Imani Harper led the attack with five stuffs, while Dooley collected four.
The Panthers resume play in the Nittany Lion Invitational at 1 p.m. on Saturday when they face Buffalo.
