
Outfielder John Schultz Named To NECBL All-Star Team

Pitt outfielder John Schultz has been named to the New England Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Team and will play July 18 at 6:30 p.m. at MacKenzie Stadium in Holyoke, Mass.
Schultz (West Lawn, Pa./Wilson) will be representing the North Adams SteepleCats of the Western Division. As a rising junior, Schultz currently leads the league in stolen bases with 14 and has driven in a league-high 23 runs, while hitting .302. He also leads his team, which sits at 18-13 on the season, with 32 hits in 106 at bats.
For Pitt in 2009, Schultz played in and started 46 games for the Panthers, hitting .319 on the year and leading the squad with 13 doubles. Schultz also finished second on the team with 60 hits and 44 runs scored on the year.
