PITTSBURGH—Pitt’s men’s track and field team competed in its annual Blue and Gold Meet, this weekend, giving Panther fans a preview of what the 2009-10 season holds. Events began on Friday in the Cost Center and concluded this afternoon in the Field House.
“Everyone did well,” Head Track and Field Coach Alonzo Webb said. “All of the coaches are happy with the work ethic and attitude of the team. This should be a positive season for the men and women.”
Junior Garrett Larkin of the Gold team turned in two first-place performances, winning the weight throw (15.99M) and shot put (15.8). Later, teammate Josiah Rupert won the javelin (169-11/2) and Ron Walter took the pole vault when he cleared 15’6.
