PITTSBURGH -
For the sixth straight year, Pitt Gymnastics will be holding a weekend summer camp on Thursday June 24th through Sunday June 27th. Campers will learn techniques and sharpen skills while being evaluated on their abilities to perform at a high level of competition. The coaching staff consists of highly-skilled club and college coaches from across the map. University of Pittsburgh gymnasts will also be present to provide insight on what it is like to be a student-athlete at Pitt.
The PANTHER Gymnastics Camp will be held in the state-of-the-art Gymnastics Training Center at the University of Pittsburgh, home to the Panther Gymnastics Program. This facility is located near Trees Hall on the Pitt campus and features a 12,000 square foot training area with free foam, resi-pits, rod floor, and multiple bar and beam stations. With close instruction from Pitt Head Coach Debra Yohman and the rest of the gymnastics staff, emphasis will be placed on individual performance in all four phases as well as dance, strength and flexibility.
Campers must be between the ages of 8-17. Food will be provided daily from the Petersen Events Center, home of the Pitt Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams. The cost of the camp is $375.00 which covers instruction, lunch, snack and a t-shirt. A $150.00 deposit is due with application prior to June 1st. Clubs registering 10 or more campers together will receive a $25.00 discount per camper.
