Women's Volleyball Travels North This Weekend

PITTSBURGH—Coming off their ninth shutout of the year, the University of Pittsburgh women’s volleyball team travels north for Big East conference matches against St. John’s and Connecticut on Friday, Oct. 30, and Sunday, Nov 1, respectively. Friday’s match will begin at 7 p.m. and Sunday’s is slated for a 2 p.m. start.
The Panthers improved to 15-8 overall and 7-2 in the conference with a victory over ‘Backyard Rival’ West Virginia, last week. As a whole, the Pitt continues to out-block its opponents, 226-159. Senior Meagan Dooley is averaging 1.40 stuffs per set, while junior Imani Harper adds a 1.07 average.
St. John’s is currently 8-16 on the season and 1-7 in the league. In the all-time series, the Panthers lead, 11-5, despite dropping a three-set match last season.
Connecticut stands at an even 12-12 overall record and is 5-3 in the Big East. Pitt leads the all-time series, 13-8, despite a 3-1 loss to the Huskies, last year.
