Georgetown Nips Panthers 1-0 in Double Overtime

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The University of Pittsburgh men`s soccer team fell 1-0 in double overtime to Georgetown University here today at North Kehoe Field.
It was the second straight game the Panthers (1-10-1, 0-6-1 Big East) found themselves in the second overtime period after having tied No. 25 West Virginia on Oct. 6.
Georgetown improved to 5-2 in Big East play and 8-3-1 overall with the win. The Hoyas` Alex Verdi headed in the game-winner in the 107th minute during a scramble inside the box. Seth C`Debaca was credited with the assist with his free kick sending the ball into the box.
Freshman goalkeeper Keegan Gunderson (Circle Pine.Minn/Shattuck-St. Mary's) tallied four on the day.
The Panthers continue action on the road in Big East Conference play, traveling to Storrs, Conn., taking on the Huskies on Saturday, Oct. 17. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
