Women's Volleyball Wins Seventh Conference Match of the Season

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J.--Earning its seventh conference win of the season, Pitt's women's volleyball team earned a 3-1 victory over Rutgers, this afternoon. The Panthers won with scores of 25-21, 25-15, 21-25 and 25-16.
Leading the Panthers with a double-double, senior Kelly Campbell (Mansfield, Ohio/Mansfield) recorded 14 kills and 10 digs. Sophomore Amy Town (Orillia, Ont./Orillia) added nine kills, while senior Jessica Moses (North Olmstead, Ohio/Lutheran West) tallied eight kills and five blocks.
As a team, Pitt (15-10, 7-3 Big East) recorded 13.5 blocks in the contest. Senior Stephanie Ross (Dayton, Ohio/Chaminade-Julienne) recorded a match-high seven blocks, while sophomore Imani Harper (Yonkers, N.Y./The Masters School) chipped in a career-high five in just two sets.
Ross collected a set-high four kills in the second set, as the Panthers boasted a match-high .400 hitting clip.
After slipping in the third set, the Panthers held Rutgers (1-18, 0-9 Big East) to a .121 hitting percentage in the final contest of the day. As they did in the first set, Campbell and Town each recorded four kills in the fourth game.
Freshman Allyson Hodnik (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) tallied 12 assists in the fourth set, while posting 33 in the match.
The Panthers resume play on Friday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. against Louisville.
