PITTSBURGH--In late July, the University of Pittsburgh's volleyball alumni met on campus for a reunion where they shared new experiences and reflected on their days as a Panther. Those returning to campus included: Linda Zols Bailey, Nancy Fierschnaller Bauer, Lori Silk Delic, Jenelle Lantagne Duvall, Kelly Matheis Eckenrode, Bridgett Gary Hart, Susan Hoover McDonald, Michele Adamson Papadamou and Shelly Seanor Valentovish.
"It was an amazing weekend," said Bauer. "Some of us haven't seen one another in 15 years. Everyone is still very much the same, a little older and a little wiser, but nonetheless, very much the same. I am so proud to have been a part of the experience!"
The reunion began on a Friday night where Bauer, Echenrode and Duvall met with Senior Associate Athletic Director/Senior Women's Administrator Carol Sprague and Varsity Club Coordinator/Athletic Gifts Officer Dan Stephens at the Holiday Inn. On Saturday, the group toured University Hall, Fitzgerald Field House and the Petersen Events Center before having lunch at Primanti Bros. on Forbes Ave. That evening the alum enjoyed dinner and the magnificent view from Mt. Washington.
"It was a great weekend, said Duvall. "Thanks to everyone for making it happen. We hope to connect with those who didn't get to make it in the near future."
Others who were unable to attend were: Sue Zonneville Aldrich, Annemarie Mernagh Bates, Heather Hollands, Dee Macauly, Carrie Thornton Ritmiller and Sue Woodstra.
