Recently Aaron Gray joined Marc Blount as the only Panthers currently in the NBA. After a stellar senior year at Pitt, Gray (7-0, 270) was drafted 49th overall in this year's draft, he continued his success on the court in the Pepsi Pro Summer League, where he was named to the Honorable Mention Team.
In the Pepsi Pro Summer League, Gray averaged 10.2 ppg, 5.4 rpg, 1.20 spg and 1.20 bpg in five starting assignments. A week later, in The Rocky Mountain Revue highlighted Gray's attributes as he has averaged 9.7 ppg, 5.7 rpg and 1.33 bpg in three games.
Gray is not a stranger to putting up good, consistent numbers. He is the first Panther since the late 80's to average a double-double, set the rebounding record for the Big-East Tournament with 47 in 2006. Among Pitt's record-holders, an elite group, Gray ranks 10th in rebounding (790), 5th in blocks (130), 6th in double-doubles (33) and 5th in double-double figure rebounding games (39)
Gray will play alongside fellow draft mates Joakim Noah, and JamesOn Curry. He will also run alongside the likes of Ben Gordon, Kirk Hinrich and Ben Wallace among other Bulls as Chicago continues their quest to achieve the dominance they enjoyed in 1990s.
