Pitt Women To Meet James Madison in Wagner Holiday Classic

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. - The Pitt women's basketball team travels to the Wagner Holiday Classic Dec. 29 and 30 as the Panthers take on James Madison Saturday at 2 p.m. and host school Wagner Sunday at 2 p.m.
Pitt and James Madison have met just one time in school history, which was last season in the first round of the NCAA Tournament with the Panthers coming away with the 71-61 victory. The Panthers and Seahawks have never played in the schools' history.
Entering the weekend, Pitt sits at 8-3 while the Dukes are 6-3 and Wagner is 2-7 on the year. James Madison's signature win on the season came in an 80-55 decision over No. 14 George Washington.
Pitt's Shavonte Zellous (Orlando, Fla./Jones) is currently leading the team in scoring with 17.5 points per game and is third in the Big East. Marcedes Walker (Philadelphia, Pa./University City) is fourth in the league in rebounding with 10.0 per game and is 13th in scoring with 15.3 points per game.
Pitt's game with James Madison will be broadcast live on FOX Sports Radio 970 AM, as well as Panthers All-Access on www.pittsburghpanthers.com with Greg Linnelli and Mike Clark calling the action. Sunday's game with Wagner will be broadcast live on the web and on 970 AM on a delay following the Pittsburgh Steelers broadcast at approximately 7 p.m.
