PITTSBURGH - The Pitt women's basketball team plays its fourth consecutive game at the Petersen Events Center on Wednesday evening, hosting crosstown rival Duquesne for a 7 p.m. showdown.
The Panthers are 4-1, having won their first four games before a 69-60 defeat to Missouri in the championship game of the Pitt Thanksgiving Classic on Sunday. The Dukes are 2-2 in 2005-06 with wins over East Carolina and Bradley.
Although Pitt leads the all-time series between the schools, 15-8, the Dukes have had recent success in winning the last five meetings dating back to the 2000-01 season. This will be the 22nd consecutive season that Pitt and Duquesne will meet on the court.
