Panthers Football Training Camp Report for Friday

Walt Harris Quotes
On some of the injured players returning to practice:
?Some, possibly. I don?t want to talk about those guys. Let?s talk about the guys who are working their butts off practicing and getting triple-time opportunities to get better. The problem is they get worn out. That?s the problem when we don?t have everyone working.?
On the format of the scrimmage on Saturday:
?I think it depends on how many players we have that can play. That will be the plan and that will be adjusted as we go. We may not have a kicking segment. We?ll have a kicking practice tomorrow (Saturday) morning. We?ll probably have field goals and PATs, but I don?t know how much of the other, we?ll have to tighten that up. Once again, that is a lot of our bodies.?
On punter/placekicker Adam Graessle:
?Adam has been struggling (punting) so far in camp. He?s working hard, along with us, to try to get it right.?
On punter Nick Krut:
?Nick Krut looks like he is doing a nice job for us. He?s in the mix.?
On running back Brandon Mason:
?He?s done a nice job. He?s got a lot to learn in terms of our system, but he?s an excellent runner. He appears to making yards on the ground. We?re taking a long look at him. Of course we?ve got some guys banged up. We?re not very deep at that position, so that?s probably why he?s playing a lot.?
On the possibility of personnel changes at fullback:
?I don?t think there are any options that way. We?re not deep at linebacker, those are the kind of athletes (that would be switched). We got a bunch of candidates. We have some guys we think have a chance, but some of them are hurt. They are either young or hurt.?
On defensive back Darrelle Revis:
?He?s got skills. He can run. He has good enough size. He?s strong. He?s got a feel for playing the ball. Now he has to learn our system. I know in talking to Paul (Rhoads), he?s been excited about his progress at this point. Still, remember now he is going against freshmen and walk-ons. We?re not giving him much challenge. Now last year, those guys were getting challenged. This year, it?s a different situation.?
On defensive back Darrelle Revis? academic progress:
?He took care of his business. A lot of people, I?m sure, were apart of that equation to help him figure that out and do what he had to do. It?s great. I think it was a family situation, too. I know they worked hard. I know (his uncle) Sean (Gilbert) was involved in being able to help him get help and to do well on all of the academic requirements he had to do, which is great. They?re a great family, by the way. They are really enjoyable. It was probably one of the most fun nights I had at a home (visit) was the night I went over there after a basketball game for an official visit to his home with his mother Diana and her brother Sean. I met Sean, but I had never had a chance to be around him before. He?s quite the personality.?
On the quarterbacks playing equal time in the scrimmage:
?We?ll see how that goes. I?ll play that one by ear, based on how I feel practice has gone. They?ll both run with the ?ones? at different times. How much they will, will depend on what I want them to do in terms of what I need to see out of them, based on the play calls. I need to see some things. Sometimes a guy might play with the ?ones? and he throws a bunch of passes and the other guy plays with the ?ones? and they run a lot.?
