Veteran NFL Coach Pete Carmichael Joins Panthers Football Staff

Pete Carmichael, who spent the last 10 seasons working in the National Football League, has been named wide receivers coach at the University of Pittsburgh, Head Coach Walt Harris announced today.

Before his NFL tenure,
Carmichael and his wife, Elaine, have two daughters, Layni (Ratcliffe) and Kathleen (Hight), and a son, Pete, who serves as an assistant coach with the San Diego Chargers under former standout Pitt center Marty Schottenheimer (1962-64). They also have eight grandchildren.
