Pittsburgh Travels To Duquesne on Tuesday Night for Women's Hoops Matchup
12/7/2004
THE GAME
Pittsburgh, in the midst of its best start in school history (6-0), takes a trip down Fifth Avenue for the women?s version of the "City Game" to battle Steel City-rival Duquesne on Tuesday night at the A.J. Palumbo Center. Game time is set for 7:05 p.m.
The Panthers are looking to snap a current four-game losing streak in the series and avenge last year?s 92-80 setback to the Dukes at the Petersen Events Center. Pittsburgh has not won at the Palumbo Center since a 74-71 victory on Nov. 30, 1994. In fact, the Panthers won the first 13 games of the series but have dropped seven of the last nine meetings.
ALL-TIME SERIES
Tuesday?s contests marks the 23rd meeting between Pittsburgh and Duquesne with the Panthers leading the all-time series, 15-7. However, the Dukes have won the past four meetings, including a 92-80 decision last year at the Petersen Events Center. The last time the two teams met on Duquesne?s campus, Pittsburgh dropped a 62-60 heartbreaker. The Panthers lead the all-time series at Duquesne, 5-3.
