University of Pittsburgh sophomore wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, who leads the country with an average of 145.8 receiving yards per game, has been named the Big East Conference Co-Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in the Panthers? 37-26 victory over Texas A&M Saturday. Fitzgerald shares the honor with

ABC broadcaster Brent Musburger said, ?Mark it down folks. I think this young man should be a Heisman Trophy candidate. I haven?t seen a performance to rival this in a long time.?
ABC studio host Craig James said, ?I?m a voter for the Heisman. Right now I?d have to say that guy (Fitzgerald) is at the top of the list. Who else in
Fitzgerald extended his school record to 10 consecutive games with a touchdown catch. He has nine touchdowns this season and 18 TDs in his last 10 contests.
In addition to leading the country in receiving yards, Fitzgerald ranks second in scoring (tied, 13.50 points per game) and fourth in receptions (8.0 avg.). He has 32 total receptions on the season for 583 yards (18.2 avg.).
