Softball Announces 2003 Fall Schedule

PITTSBURGH ? University of Pittsburgh head softball coach Michelle Phalen has announced the fall schedule for the Panthers. The team will be playing in three tournaments on consecutive weekends from Sept. 21-Oct. 5.
The Panthers' first tournament will be a one-day affair at Cleveland State in Cleveland, Ohio. Pittsburgh will open the tournament on Sunday, Sept. 21 against Ashland University at noon. The Panthers will also play host Cleveland State at 2 p.m. before playing Ashland again at 6 p.m.
The following weekend, Pittsburgh will play in the Kent State Fall Invitational in Kent, Ohio. On Saturday, Sept. 27, the Panthers will face the host Golden Flashes at noon before a 2 p.m. game with Youngstown State and a 4 p.m. game against Ashland. On Sunday, Sept. 28, the Panthers will play two games -- versus Toledo at 2 p.m. and Akron and 4 p.m.
The final tournament of the fall season will be the Robert Morris Tournament on Sat.-Sun., Oct. 4-5. On Saturday, Oct. 4, the Panthers will face California (Pa.) at 11 a.m. before a 12:45 p.m. game with the host Colonials. The last game will be played on Sunday, Oct. 5, against Gannon at 11:15 a.m.
