Panthers Fans Encouraged to Wear Gold this Saturday

The Pittsburgh-Notre Dame game will mark the debut of "Panther Pride Towels."

     The University of Pittsburgh is looking for Saturday?s soldout football game with Notre Dame to be a national showcase for Panther spirit.

      The athletic department is encouraging Pittsburgh football fans to wear gold when the Panthers take on the Fighting Irish at Heinz Field. The game will be nationally televised by ESPN and kickoff at 6 p.m. Fans are asked to be in their seats 30 minutes before game time.

      Additionally, the Notre Dame game will mark the debut of the ?Panther Pride Towels.? More than 10,000 complimentary Panther Pride Towels will be distributed to the student body on game day and many more will be available for purchase at all merchandise locations at Heinz Field.

Today/ESPN. This will be Notre Dame?s first visit to Pittsburgh since Nov. 13, 1999, when the Panthers defeated the Irish, 37-27, in the final game ever played at Pitt Stadium
