Pittsburgh-Robert Morris Softball Doubleheader Washed Out
4/30/2002
MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa.- The softball doubleheader between Pittsburgh and Robert Morris was cancelled due to thunderstorms that stopped play in the top of the third inning in game one. There was no score in the first game so after a lightning strike halted play, the games were cancelled.
Pittsburgh (20-28) is still two wins shy of setting the school record for most victories in a season, topping the 21-28 mark in 2000. The Panthers will travel to Providence, R.I., to take on non-conference opponent Brown in a doubleheader on Thursday, May 2, before squaring off against the Friars of Providence College in a Big East doubleheader on Saturday, May 4. Pittsburgh (5-9 Big East) closes out the regular season with two games at Boston College on Sunday, May 5. Thursday's games begin at 3 p.m.
