Women's Basketball Falls To Team Concept, 93-65

PITTSBURGH
After falling behind 16-14 with 11:57 left in the first half, the Panthers went on a 10-3 run over the next two minutes to grab a 24-19 lead. Team Concept responded with a 15-5 spurt and went into the half with a narrow 43-39 advantage.
However, in the second half Team Concept came out on fire and finished the last 20 minutes shooting over 58 percent from the field (18 of 31). Pittsburgh managed just 29 percent shooting in the second half, including just 2 of 8 from 3-point range. Team Concept outscored the Panthers, 50-26, in the second frame to cruise to the victory.
Senior Mandy Wittenmyer (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) led Pittsburgh with 11 points and five rebounds. Senior Laine Selwyn (Coral Springs, Fla./Coral Springs) and sophomore Haley Harguth (Beaverton, Ore./Beaverton) each poured in nine points and junior Latoya Kincaid (West Helena, Ark./Central) added a team-high seven rebounds.
Pittsburgh opens its regular season next Friday, Nov. 22, as it hosts cross-town rival Robert Morris. Game time is slated for 7:30 p.m. at the Petersen Events Center.
