PITTSBURGH-Entering his senior season as the University of Pittsburgh's all-time leader in runs batted in, Brad Rea has been selected to the Preseason All-Big East Team for the second consecutive season, which was announced today by the conference office. The Panthers were tabbed 10th in the preseason coaches poll, while Notre Dame was chosen to capture the 2002 Big East Baseball Championship.
Rea (Wexford, Pa./North Allegheny) has 132 career RBI's, including a team-best 49 last season. The designated hitter/first baseman finished the 2001 campaign with a .295 batting average, 12 home runs, 10 doubles and 30 runs scored.
