Panthers Sweep Seton Hall, 3-0

PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Panthers volleyball team improved to 21-8 overall and 7-2 in the Big East with its 3-0 sweep of visiting Seton Hall Nov. 4 at Fitzgerald Field House.
The Panthers were led by junior outside hitter Heather Haff (Pittsburgh, Pa./North Allegheny) who had her best offensive effort of the season. Haff hit .750 in the match with 15 kills on 20 attempts without an error. She also added11 digs and four block assists to her effort.
Seniors Marcia Thiesen (Chatham, Ontario/John MacGregor) and Stacy Renick (Eagan, Minn./Eagan) added to Pittsburgh's effort. Thiesen had a game-high 16 kills and 15 digs for her 16th double-double of the season, while Renick had 11 kills and seven digs.
Pittsburgh grabbed an early lead in the match with a 15-4 decision in game one. The Panthers went on to a 15-10 win in the second game and captured the match with a 15-9 victory in the final game.
The Panthers will return to action Sunday, Nov. 5 for their final home match of the season. They will host Rutgers at 2 p.m. at Fitzgerald Field House.
