PITTSBURGH - Senior Samantha Chabotar (Egg Harbor, N.J./Egg Harbor) holds four top ten times for the women's swimming and diving team in the Big East Conference, including three in the top three.
Chabotar, a freestyle specialist, holds the second-best time of 16:42.18 in the 1,650-yard freestyle and the third-best times in both the 500 (4:55.49) and 1000 (10:06.93) freestyles. Chabotar rounds out her top conference times in the 400 individual medley, as she is currently sixth with a time of 4:29.11
Juniors Beth Grube (Drexel Hill, Pa./Upper Darby) and Liz Perry (Morganton, N.C./Ft. Lauderdale [Fla.]) also hold top-three times in the Big East. Grube has the second and third-best times in the 100 (58.05) and 200 (2:03.85) backstrokes, respectively, while Perry is second in the 100 butterfly at 57.38.
The Panthers (3-3) return to dual meet competition this weekend when they play host to Harvard on Saturday, Jan 9 (noon) and Penn State on Sunday, Jan. 10 (1 p.m.) at Trees Pool.
