Zach Lantz serves as Associate Athletic Director for Football Creative Strategy at the University of Pittsburgh, a position he assumed in March 2026 after returning to Pitt following seven years at Virginia Tech.
A veteran creative professional with more than a decade of experience in college athletics, Lantz oversees the strategic direction of Pitt Football’s creative content and brand storytelling efforts. In his role, he leads initiatives across digital media, social media, photography, video and graphic design to elevate the program’s brand, enhance recruiting efforts and strengthen engagement with fans and stakeholders.
Prior to his return to Pittsburgh, Lantz served as Senior Director of Creative Media at Virginia Tech from 2019-26, where he directed the football program’s creative vision and content strategy. His work helped expand the Hokies’ digital footprint through innovative storytelling, recruiting campaigns and brand development initiatives.
Lantz previously spent two years at Pitt as Director of Creative Media for Football (2017-19), helping shape the program’s visual identity and recruiting content efforts. Before arriving in Pittsburgh, he worked at James Madison University as Football Creative Media & Video Coordinator and later as a Graduate Assistant for Creative Media and Video, gaining experience in content creation, video production and digital communications.
A 2014 graduate of James Madison University, Lantz earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport and Recreation Management before completing his master’s degree in Sport Leadership in 2017.
