Winter Steele serves as Director of Athletics Creative Video at the University of Pittsburgh after previously working within Pitt Studios as an Assistant Director of Video Production.
In her current role, Steele leads all creative video initiatives across 19 sports programs, including the development and execution of content strategy for Pitt Athletics’ 2026 launch of Multimedia Long-form Content. She supports and facilitates the production of original content designed for Pitt’s digital and social media platforms.
During her time at Pitt, Steele has served as the primary video producer for Pittsburgh Volleyball, responsible for executing cohesive video storytelling published throughout multiple social media platforms and in-venue productions.
Previously she spent four years working in the Athletics Department at Crimson Tide Productions where she had the opportunity to work in sports broadcasting and videography. Steele's time working as broadcast assistant/videographer and editor grew her passion and drive to help tell the story of collegiate sports.
Steele is an Alumna of the University of Alabama where she earned her Bachelor and Master of Arts degrees in Creative Media and Journalism. Working within the multimedia department of Alabama Athletics (Crimson Tide Productions), Steele served as a Graduate Assistant Editor while serving on the leadership team for the program and the creative shooting team. In this role, she served as one of the veteran creative videographers taking on a leadership role and mentoring those following behind her.
An Atlanta, GA native Steele now resides in Pittsburgh, PA.
