- Title:
- Associate Head Coach
The 2026-27 campaign will mark Schneider's 20th year alongside Harmony and his first as an associate head coach at Pitt.
During seven seasons at Charleston, Schneider played a key role in the program's rise, culminating in a historic 27-win campaign in 2025-26 that saw the Cougars capture both the CAA regular season and tournament titles.
A native of Miami, Fla., Schneider was instrumental in recruiting and developing standout guard Taryn Barbot, the 2025 and 2026 CAA Player of the Year and 2024 CAA Rookie of the Year. Barbot became the fastest player in program history – men's or women's – to reach 1,000 points, accomplishing the milestone during her sophomore season.
Schneider helped guide Charleston to three consecutive 20-plus win seasons beginning in 2023-24, including back-to-back 25-win campaigns to close out his tenure in the lowcountry.
Prior to Charleston, Schneider spent six seasons (2013-2019), as associate head coach under Harmony at Lamar. The Cardinals posted a 115-68 record during that stretch, including three 20-win seasons and a 24-7 mark in 2018-19 en route to a Southland Conference regular season title and a second consecutive WNIT appearance.
Under Schneider's leadership, Lamar became one of the nation's top defensive teams, leading the country in steals, turnovers forced and turnover margin over his final three seasons. He also helped develop Chastadie Barrs, a four-time Southland Conference Defensive Player of the Year and AP Honorable Mention All-American, who set NCAA Division I records for single season (192) and career steals (632).
Schneider also spent six seasons at St. Thomas (Fla.) as an assistant under Harmony, where the Bobcats compiled a 132-48 record and made three NAIA National Championship appearances.
Schneider earned a bachelor's degree in education, graduating cum laude from Florida International University in 1998. He and his wife, Jennifer, have one daughter, Taylor.
