Michael Stegemoeller arrived at Pitt in April of 2025 as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach working with lacrosse and swim & dive, and leading the sports performance internship program.
Previously, Stegemoeller spent three years at Cincinnati as an assistant sports performance coach working with women's lacrosse, swim & dive, and a short stint with track and field's sprint and hurdle groups. He also served as the internship coordinator and was nominated for the Athletic Department’s One Team Award twice in his time there.
Stegemoeller went to Cincinnati from Texas A&M, where he was a program aide for sports performance and oversaw women’s tennis and women’s golf, while assisting with swim & dive, track and field, volleyball, softball, and men's tennis. Prior to Texas A&M, Stegemoeller worked as a graduate assistant at Southern Mississippi, where he earned a master’s degree in sport coaching education.
Before heading to Southern Miss, Stegemoeller served as a volunteer intern at Houston assisting in the training of the volleyball, softball, swim & dive, and track and field teams. To start his career, Stegemoeller worked as a performance coach at Michael Johnson Performance in McKinney, Texas working with athletes of all ages and sports while being the lead performance coach in a partnership with the Solar Soccer Club’s DA teams.
Stegemoeller is a 2017 graduate of Texas A&M, with a bachelor’s degree in applied exercise physiology, and a 2021 graduate of Southern Mississippi with a master’s degree in sport coaching education.
Stegemoeller holds certification through the CSCCa (SCCC), and the NSCA (CSCS).
