Katie Pearson is joining Pitt Studios in 2026 as a Coordinator of Broadcast Production. Before joining the full-time staff, she freelanced at SportsNet Pittsburgh and Pitt Studios for a variety of broadcasts. Pearson serves as an associate producer, CG operator, and associate director.
As part of the Pitt Studios staff, she has a hand in producing Pitt sporting events that air on ACC Network and ACC Network Extra as well as the ESPN App. Pitt Studios is responsible for the live productions of home games for most Olympic sports. In preparation for these events, Pearson spends time creating graphics and interviewing coaches. She also archives broadcasts to ensure organization for live productions.
Pearson graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in December of 2025 with a Bachelor of Arts in Media and Professional Communications and certificates in TV and Broadcast Arts and Sports Studies. During her time in undergrad, she worked as a Student Video Assistant with Pitt Football for four seasons, interned with Pitt Studios, the PGA TOUR, the Pittsburgh Penguins, SportsNet Pittsburgh, and WV News.
Pearson is originally from Buckhannon, West Virginia, and currently resides in Homestead. She has three older brothers, Brad, Bryce, and Breagan. Her mother is Amy Pearson, and her father is Ron Pearson. Katie also has a tuxedo cat named Knox.
