Jennifer Parknavy
- Title:
- Assistant Director, Business Operations
- Email:
Jennifer Parknavy joined the University of Pittsburgh Athletic Department in 1999 as an Administration Assistant to the Associate Athletic Director for Business and Finance and was promoted to Purchasing Coordinator in 2001.
In 2008, she moved into her current role within the Athletic Department Business Office (Assistant Director of Business Operations). Her responsibilities include purchasing (PantherExpress), Vincent per diem debit cards for Athletic Department team travel, expense report reconciliations, travel advances for Athletic Department teams, and the Wheels of Support car program for coaches and administrators.
During the University of Pittsburgh’s move to ACC in July 2013, Parknavy worked with a group of hand-selected Athletic Department staff members on the ACC transition team. The team developed, highlighted, and presented events for Pitt students, staff, and community to promote the transition into the ACC.
Parknavy also collaborated with UPMC Enterprises on the development of the Vincent debit card system, which is currently used for Athletic Department team travel. This cutting-edge system enables our student-athletes and coaches to travel with individual debit cards, eliminating the need to carry cash and allowing for a safer, more efficient overall per diem process.
In August 2014, Parknavy was the recipient of the Charles S. Miller Award. The award is named in honor of the first Athletic Director at the University of Pittsburgh and is presented annually to the Athletic Department staff member who has demonstrated exceptional commitment and pride in their work for Pitt Athletics. She was also recognized by the University in 2019 for 20 years of distinguished service.
Parknavy graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1997 with a degree in General Studies/Humanities. She currently resides in White Oak with her husband, Jonathan.
