Jamarius Burton joined the Pitt Basketball staff during the summer of 2025 and enters his first season on staff after finishing his playing career for the Panthers in 2022-23.
In his role with the Panthers, Burton assists the coaching staff with practice planning, scout team preparation, skills work, and overall player development.
Burton appeared in 154 games in two years with the Panthers, averaging 13.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists. He was instrumental in getting the team back to the NCAA Tournament in 2023, earning First Team All-ACC honors and being named Second Team NABC All-District III. Burton began his collegiate career at Texas Tech and totaled 1,521 points, 540 rebounds and 476 assists in his career. Burton played one season overseas with the House of Talents Kortrijk Spurs of the Belgium Pro Basketball League.
