- Assistant Athletic Director, Annual Giving
Jake Hintzman was named Assistant Athletic Director for Annual Giving at the University of Pittsburgh in May of 2026, bringing more than five years of collegiate athletics fundraising experience to the Panthers.
In his role, Hintzman leads the strategy and execution of Pitt Athletics' annual fund, overseeing donor communication, solicitation, engagement and acquisition efforts in support of the Panthers' student-athletes and varsity programs.
Hintzman joins Pitt from the University of Colorado, where he spent four years with the Buff Club in roles of increasing responsibility. Most recently, he served as Associate Director of Development for Annual Giving and Premium Seating, leading annual fund strategy while managing a portfolio of 60-75 donors focused on mid-level growth, renewals and pipeline development. In that role, he directed production of the Buff Club Annual Membership Guide, oversaw donor events and engagement experiences, and raised $387,000 in fiscal year 2026.
As Assistant Director of Development at Colorado from 2023-26, Hintzman managed a portfolio of 80-100 prospects with giving capacity of $5,000 or more, co-led the launch of the Support Your Sport annual fund initiative and contributed to a record $35 million fundraising year. He raised $525,000 in fiscal year 2025, secured leadership-level NIL commitments and expanded premium tailgating inventory by 30 tents to grow gameday revenue.
Hintzman began his Colorado tenure in June 2022 as a Development Coordinator, where he sold and managed suites, loge boxes and premium tailgating inventory while authoring annual fund collateral and raising $305,000 in his first year.
Prior to Colorado, Hintzman spent two years as a graduate student intern with the Tennessee Fund at the University of Tennessee, supporting more than 12,000 members and generating $246,000 in new ticket sales and donations through outreach and solicitations. He also assisted with major gift research and helped implement a new venue pricing structure across five sports.
A 2022 NCAA Emerging Leaders Seminar participant, Hintzman earned his Master of Science in Sport and Recreation Management from Tennessee in 2022. He completed his undergraduate studies at Colorado State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in marketing and a minor in sport management in 2019.
