Elisabeth Schmidt joined the University of Pittsburgh athletics department in September 2022, serving as the primary contact for softball, wrestling, and the secondary contact for men’s basketball.
Schmidt comes to Pittsburgh after working as an Athletics Communications Associate with the National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA). During her time working in the NJCAA National Office, Schmidt was as the primary contact for Division I sports, serving as a liaison for the Division I Sport Committees, Division I Championship host sites, and the Division III Oversight Committee.
Prior to the NJCAA, Schmidt had stints working in Major League Baseball as a communications intern for the Miami Marlins and as a Media Relations Associate for the New York Mets.
A native of Homer City, Pa., Schmidt received her bachelor’s degree in communications with a minor in journalism and public relations from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP) in 2019.
