Allison Ross returned to the University of Pittsburgh Department of Athletics in July 2026 as the athletic trainer for the Panthers' volleyball program.
Prior to her return to Pitt, Ross spent three years as the assistant athletic trainer for the men's and women's track & field and cross country programs at the University of Miami. During her time with the Hurricanes, she worked with two NCAA champions and one Olympian who competed at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Before joining Miami, Ross served as an assistant athletic trainer for the University of Louisville's track & field and cross country programs for two years.
A two-time Pitt graduate, Ross earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in 2019 before completing a Master of Science in Sports Medicine in 2021. During graduate school, she spent two years as a graduate assistant athletic trainer with Pitt's track & field and cross country programs. She also provided interim coverage for football, men's and women's basketball, swimming & diving, and gymnastics.
A native of York, Pennsylvania, Ross holds certifications in Functional Dry Needling (Levels I and II), Mulligan Manual Therapy Concept, Foundations of Joint Manipulation, Sports Manual Therapy, and Muscle Energy Techniques. She has authored and presented multiple clinical case studies at the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) Clinical Symposia, with her work focusing on evidence-based rehabilitation and return-to-sport strategies for collegiate athletes.
