Kelly Layton joined the Pitt lacrosse coaching staff in September 2024 as an assistant coach.
Layton starts in Oakland after spending the previous two years on the St. Bonaventure staff. With the Bonnies, Layton worked most closely with the goalies and helped coach the squad to their first Atlantic 10 Tournament appearance since 2007, as well as their first conference win since 2017.
Before her time with the Bonnies, Layton spent one season with George Washington University, serving as an assistant coach and helping with the day-to-day plans and developments of players on a squad that made the Atlantic 10 Tournament for the first time in 13 years. She also served as the lacrosse coach for the Potomac School as well as a goalie coach for the Next Level lacrosse Club.
Prior to coaching, Layton was a four-year member of the women's lacrosse program at Millersville University. She is also a member of Israeli Women's National Team and started each of the eight games during the 2022 World Lacrosse World Championships. She also competed in The World Games 2022 in Birmingham, Alabama. Layton earned her undergraduate degree in Public Relations and Organizational Communication as well as a Masters in Sport Management from Millersville and is originally from Ashton, Maryland.
