Carley Adams joined the Pitt lacrosse coaching staff in August 2023 as an assistant coach.
Adams’ focus on the offensive side of the ball helped lead the Panthers to the highest shots on goal percentage in program history of .667. The Panthers finished the season with a total of 219 goals and 97 assists in 2024, both improvements over 2023.
Adams arrived in Pittsburgh after coaching one season at Temple University as an assistant coach. She worked with the offense and draw units as the Owls had more points, goals, assists, shots and draw controls than their opponents. Adams also helped with practice planning, scouting, game day operations and travel accommodations.
Prior to coaching, Adams was a student-athlete at Arizona State University for six years. She played in each of the 79 games during her time in Tempe and holds the school records for goals in a season and goals in a game. Adams recorded 195 career points with 140 goals and 55 assists. She led the team in points in 2022 and 2021. Adams earned multiple accolades during her playing career including US Lacrosse Magazine and Inside Lacrosse All-American Honorable Mention (2022), IWLCA First Team All-Region (2022 & 2021), US Lacrosse magazine National Player of the Week (2022), Pac-12 First Team (2022 & 2021). She was team captain from 2019-2022.
The Fort Lauderdale, Florida native received her bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Professional Sales and her master’s in Business Journalism.
Along with collegiate coaching experience, Adams served as a club coach for Vortex Elite in Phoenix, Arizona in 2021 and 2022 and with Lax Maniax in South Florida in 2022 and 2023.
