Brewer joins the gymnastics team as a volunteer assistant coach this season.
During her career at Pitt, Brewer won the 2011 EAGL Championship floor title. She was the Panthers[apos] most consistent floor performer and broke her own career high numerous times. In the NCAA Northeast Region, Brewer ranked 16th on the floor to lead all Pitt gymnasts. Brewer has competed on both vault and floor at Pitt and was voted as a team co-captain her senior year.
Asa junior,Brewer competed in four meets on the floor exercise for the Panthers. She tied her career-high mark on the floor with a 9.775 against Ohio State (1/22) and carried a season average of 9.150 on the floor.
In her rookie season, Brewer became a veteran on the vault and floor.She carried a season average of 9.452 on the vault and 9.439 on the floor exercise. Brewer scored a season-high 9.575 on vault twice, while posting aseason-high mark of 9.775 on the floor against then No. 14 Denver and Texas Women[apos]s Universty. She also competed sparingly on the uneven bars.
Prior to joining the Panthers, Brewer took second in the floor exercise at the Junior Olympic National meet in 2006 and trained at the United States Olympic Training Center. Brewer wasa member of the 2006 Level 10 National team, where she captured second in the all-around competition. Brewer also claimed second-place in the floor exercise, third on the vault and third on the beam as a part of the national team. She was named the 2004 Level 9 National Champion after claiming first-place in the all-around competition, tying with Pitt teammate Shannon Vafiadou. Brewer was member of Geddert[apos]s Twistars from 2003 to 2007.
