Aaron Duvall serves as the Assistant Athletic Director for Sports Performance at the University of Pittsburgh, where he oversees all strength and conditioning and applied sports science operations for the athletic department. He originally joined Pitt in August of 2021 as the Associate Head S&C Coach for Olympic Sports, and is now responsible for facilitating a comprehensive collegiate high-performance model designed to enhance the health, development, and performance of all student-athletes. In addition to his administrative and leadership responsibilities, Duvall directly oversees the training of the Women’s Volleyball program.
Duvall holds a Master of Science degree in Sports Science and is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). He also holds the Strength and Conditioning Coach Certification through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (SCCC) and is an Advanced Sport Performance Specialist through USA Weightlifting (USAW-2). His approach emphasizes collaboration with athletic training, sports nutrition, and sport coaching staffs to create an integrated, evidence-based performance environment.
Prior to his tenure at Pitt, Duvall gained extensive experience working with performance staffs at LSU–Shreveport, Cal State Fullerton, Clemson University, and The University of Texas at Austin, and Mississippi State University. While at Mississippi State, he was directly responsible for the training of Women’s Soccer, Track and Field, and Men’s Tennis, assisted with the implementation of the department’s sports science initiatives, and supervised all strength and conditioning interns. His professional background spans both disciplines of strength and conditioning and sports science.
