Matt Stewart joined the Pitt Staff in September 2022 and enters his first season as the assistant coach of the Panthers.

Campbell University | Assistant Coach | 2018-2022

Helped guide the Camels to the 2021 and 2022 Big South Conference regular season titles and tournament championship titles.
The 2021 Big South Conference Championship title marked Campbell’s first NCAA postseason appearance and postseason win since 2009.
Increased team winning percentage from .481, to .596, to .661 in each of the three full seasons on staff.

University of South Carolina | Volunteer Assistant Coach | 2016-2018

Member of the coaching staff that was awarded 2018 Southeast Region Coaching Staff of the Year.
Helped the Gamecocks reach the Super Regionals and earn the No. 9 seed in the NCAA Tournament with a 49-17 overall record.
Worked closely with Coach Matt Lisle and Coach Calvin Beamon with the development of hitters.

University of Florida | Team Manager, 2013-2015 | Graduate Assistant, 2015-2016

Assisted the team to two National Championships (2014, 2015) and two SEC Championship titles (2015, 2016).
Graduate Assistant to the 2015 Coaching Staff of the Year.
Worked closely with Coaches Tim Walton, Jim Rocha, and Sharonda McDonald.
Designed and implemented a new bat testing and inventory system.

Education

Earned a bachelor’s degree in sports management with a minor in business administration from the University of Florida in 2014.
Received a master's degree in sports management from the University of Florida in 2016.
