Lukas Petersen enters his second year as the volunteer assistant coach at the University of Pittsburgh. Prior to joining the Panthers' coaching staff, Petersen spent time coaching the Allegheny Force Football Club in Pittsburgh and gaining experience playing professional soccer overseas.
A native of Burlington, Vt., Petersen made the move to Austria, Europe to play professional soccer for SC Neusiedl am See 1919 in 2012 before making the jump to another club, ASK Mannersdorf. Petersen worked his way to a starting position and enjoyed a two-year stint with the club.
His collegiate career consisted of a two-year appearance at the University of Vermont, then in 2010, transferred to Hobart and William Smith Colleges where he completed his collegiate career.
Petersen earned his bachelors degree in Sociology and minored in European Studies while at Hobart and William Smith.
