THE STORYLINE

One of the nation's most underrated players, Nasir Robinson is a hard-nosed and aggressive competitor who can play multiple positions. A passionate player who brings outstanding energy, Robinson has spent the last two seasons as Pitt's starter at power forward even though he is undersized at 6-feet-5 inches tall. He provides a variety of intangibles to the Panthers: stellar defense, rebounding ability and scoring as evidenced by his 26-point, 11-rebound performance vs. Louisville in 2009-10 and a 21-point game vs. Syracuse last year. He is a strong, hard-working and fearless player who excels at passing, slashing to the hoop and scoring around the basket. A workhorse and natural floor leader who attacks the basket, the relentless and versatile Robinson can handle the ball, is explosive off the dribble, powerful off the glass and is a rebounding machine. He rebounds far better than his size indicates. Look for Robinson to again make a key impact on the Panthers' 2011-12 season.
